Tomorrow I'm going to try and do the gumpaste shoe that Nati was so nice to share with us. I want to make a cake that is like a shoe box and put it on top.

So how big do you make the shoe? Little or near normal shoe size?

Hi Joanne

I've never done a shoe before. so good luck.
I think it would depend on what size box cake you were going to do.
You can print out the shoe template smaller if you wish to make a smaller shoe and cake.

Dont know if this has really helped or not,
so if not here's a bump for you anyway.

Do it according to the size cake you need if it is a small cake a small shoe if it is for lots of people then life size is IDEAL

I'd make it normal shoe size - it is easier to work with the gumpaste on a larger scale and it looks impressive to have it lifesize.

I make mine as a normal size shoe I used and insert from one of my shoes for the pattern. Just posted one in my photos ontop of a blue cake
