I am thinking about purchasing a KA this summer sometime ( I know its early but I like to take my time when spending so much money icon_biggrin.gif ). I was looking at the refurbished ones and was wondering how many of you all had a refurbished KA and how it held up. I would rather spend a bit more for a new product then have the hassles and headaches. Any thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I just got my KA 600 a few months ago, although I didn't buy it (it was given to me) it's over 15 years old and it works great!

I got mine off ebay, I got a Pro 5, NOT refurbished and I paid $185 for it, including shipping (which was free). I am not a refurbished person, but I´ve heard of many people here on CC with refurbished KA and never had a problem. If you don´t want to buy online, BB&B has a 20% coupon on Sunday´s paper and they do price match. You can print Amazon´s prices and take it to BB&B and they will match and give you your extra 20% off with the coupon. HTH and good luck.

Mine is refurbished too, has been a great machine. I paid $99.00 for it on amazon with free shipping and $20.00 future coupon. Great deal! It is the 4.5 qt though. I wish I would have gotton a larger one. Buy the biggest you can afford, you won't be sorry.

i just ordered a pro 600 refurb from KA's website. hasn't arrived yet, but im excited. i also did some checking into it before deciding on doing a refurb. i found so many positive comments about the refurbs, that i decided they must be a good deal and good quality. do a search on CC for refurbished KA's. you'll see a lot of posts from people who have them and love them. i also found a post from a person who had trouble with it, but KA replaced it even after the warranty had expired. So i felt confident in my order.
and its great that i know i'll have a pro 600 KA for less than the artisan, even after shipping! it was only about 275$.

I got my refurbished Pro 600 about 5 months ago and I absolutely LOVE it! Not a moment's trouble so far. I think it's important to keep in mind that sometimes refurbished doesn't mean "used". Sometimes there was damage to packaging or a scratch on it or something like that. Then the factory checked it over, made sure it was running like new, and sold it as refurbished.

I just got my pearl metallic KA Pro 600 this weekend and paid $290.69 for it. I had my mother get it for me at the Nave Exchange. They were on sale for 15% off then she had a scratch off coupon worth another 10% off plus you don't have to pay for tax. So after I send in the $30.00 rebate and the rebate for the magazine $24.00 I will have only paid $236.60 for it. Not bad if you think about it. I got the top model for less than the lower model.

I forgot to mention that this is a new one not refurbished.

Before settling on refurbished or new, always shop around. I got a KA 600 pro brand new at Williams Sonoma for $279 because they were discontinuing the color. I just happened to walk into the store on the right day. Always keep your eyes and ears open. I have two KA's and love them both!

Great decision to buy a KA! You won't be sorry! I have (2) Pro 600s, a new one and a refurbed one. I live very close to Greenville, OH, which is where their plant is and a Kitchenaid Experience store, so I bought both of them there. The refurbed one was my later purchase and if I had it to do over I would have bought my first refurbed too! It's nearly 12 years old and runs like new! It was less than 1/2 off a brand new one! LOVE KA!

Costco has pretty good prices on new ones and Fry's has new and refurbished. I think refurb is fine. I got my KA new about 10 years ago and it is 5 or 5.5 qt. Works like a charm and has attachments for other kitchen gadget functions..
