How Do I Keep My Mmf From Cracking Right At The End?

I made my first deal of MMF up the other night to use for my Fondant Gum Paste class and I got it on the cake and was doing just fine then when it go to the end it started to brake off before I ever started to trim the edges. I don't know what the problem is!?!?!? Hlep please cuz I really like using the MMF it is soooooo much better than Wiltons fondant!!!! Thanks a bunch.
I've tried Crisco, corn syrup and extra water...I still have trouble.
I always use crisco with mmf........you might have to add more. I love the taste of mmf too but I think it is hard to work with IMHO. I can never get it to look smooth on a cake and can never get the bottom to come out nice and clean when I cut the excess off. Tonight, I tried Toba Garrett's recipe and I like the texture alot more than the mmf. I think it came out looking alot smoother and didn't have any of the problems I do when I use mmf and it tastes good too!
here's the recipe i think jenbenjr was talking about.
