You get kicked again! Anyone ever feel this way? We used our tax return to pay off bills, and now the transmission in my little car dies! It's about 2800 to rebuild it, and the car only blue books for 2000-2600! We don't have the money to rebuild it, or to make a car payment. Just feels like we got kiced, ya know? We really have to have 2 cars, since dh works about 30 minutes away and needs a car for work, but my kindergartner can't ride the bus, and neither can my preschooler. The preschool is about a 10-15 minute drive, and too far to walk. Just had to vent. thanks!
I know the feeling. The common phrase in our house is "There's always SOMETHING"
Things always come up and we're always struggling to get ahead, for the moment I've contented myself with the idea that we're keeping up.
Hang in there, things will eventually get better!! Look at it this way...at least the bills are paid off! It could be much worse (I know that doesn't make you feel any better, though...)
I'm right there with ya'll!! We are planning a 3 day trip with friends to New Orleans & my DH blows the motor up in his truck last Sat!! Racing to a forrest fire. We still owe $7,000 on the darn thing!! I was going to get me a TrailBlazer in the summer.. not now
We are still going to NO so that's a good thing!! Stuff like this keeps use humble! That's how I always look at it~ Then I take a look at other people & see that they are going through something worse then me. That's when I'm brought back out of my poor-pitiful-me mood & say thank you Jesus for the blessings!!! Good Luck everyone~
(PS>>> I wasn't saying that anyone was doing a poor-pitiful-me thing... that's just what I call it for myself. I don't want anyone to think I was saying anything rude.)![]()
But the good news is you don't have to pay those bills AND pay for the car repair! So in another way, you ARE ahead!
Anytime you can remove some debt, you're a step ahead.
"The key is being debt free!"
You're right, and I know...be thankful for the blessings we do have, but it still stinks that it died, and we really don't have the money to fix it or get a new car. Oh well. I know something will work out, it's just wha tand when. Thanks for letting me be a baby for a minute!
I can totally empathize with you! I told my DH that we should change our last name to Morton (like the salt) because when it rains, it pours around us. We had a garage sale and I was dreaming about what we could do with the profits - weekend getaway, new drapes, etc. - when something in the engine of my van decided for us, to the tune of $200 more than we made at the garage sale!
*SIGH*
