A bit about myself: I am currently only a hobby/friends and family baker. But I did go to culinary school. (Life interviened 
and I'm not currently working in the field) keeping my skills up on the weekends though. I hope to make a change though and find something full time 
I have to say it's really inspiring to be in the presence of such amazing decorators!

I have the same situation. I went to culinary school and my last "professional job" was the banquet and pastry chef at a private club until we got a wonderful unexpected surprise ! Now my second one will start kindergarten next fall and I hope to get back in the loop. I really wanted to open a New Orleans style po' boy shop in my area (small city in VA), but this cake decorating has really taken a hold on me. I don't have a "legal" home business (which I am looking into changing), but I do charge for cakes and sometimes I can't believe the response I get. My husband supports both ideas, and so do my family and friends, so I just don't know which way to go yet. I'm having fun in the mean time.
