fondant or gumpaste roses.

I have used the petal cutters from Wilton for making roses but I also made some roses doing it petal by petal.

What process do you use and why do you prefer it?

I like sharp petal cutters, since, for me, I have more control over the end result. I think it's just a matter of which technique you are more comfortable with.

I have made them both ways using the Wilton's blossom thingie. All i did was made the cut a but further in so I could pull the petals apart and I just stuck them together in the right location for a natural looking rose.

I will do them both ways it really depends on the size of the rose i want. I too, make the cuts deeper on the blossom cutter.
