I plan on making my mom a cake for her 70th b-day. I am planning on a slot machine (hopefully that is what it will look like icon_redface.gif ), but more than half of it will be a dummy. Since I will be out of town just prior to the big day and am dying to make a cake, can I start on the dummy part of this? Will it keep ok for several weeks if it is MMF?? How would I store this part?

Fondant (not on real cake) will keep for ages. Just store the dummy covered to protect if from dust and bright light-colors will fade in light
