I am taking my first Wilton cake decorating class. My daughter is allergic to peanuts and all Wilton products are manufactured on lines that use peanuts. Does any one have alternate products I can use. Thanks for your help.

The only Wilton food product we 'need' for our class is the meringue powder for the butter cream, and the piping gel.

And I think you should be able to find a substitute albumen or meringue powder at your local supermarket.

And I think they sell piping gel on this web site, and if not, try sugarcraft.com

you don't have to use Wilton stuff, you can make your own. Many recipes here.

i have used Wilton meringue powder in an icing for someone allergic to peanuts with no problems. i thought it was safe because there is no peanut warning on the label. i may have to look for a substitute now just to be safe.
