I have a canon 3000 ip. I just changed out the cartridges (purchased from KopyKakes) and the test print was awful (no black or blue or yellow). I have done numerous cleanings and deep cleanings to no avail. The test pattern now prints the place and magenta only. When I tried to print the image I need it comes out only magenta. Any ideas? I took the little tab off that I was suppose to when I loaded the new cartridges. When I couldn't get the cleaning to work I put a needle through the label and the tiny hole on top.

Also, has anyone had a problem with the new cartridges from KK? I open them and they drip out all over the place. I have magenta droplets everywhere and the yellow did the same.

Yikes, was your printer printing properly before replacing the cartridges?

I have this same printer for edible images and it sounds like you've gone through all of the maintenance procedures. Are your old cartridges so drained you can't try those again, just to try to rule out the new cartridges being the problem?

Oh, by the way, when I refill the ink cartridges on the IP3000 that I have for regular printing, I have to tape the bottom ink hole very well while doing the refilling, and can only take that tape off when the hole at the top is absolutely sealed. Otherwise, the ink just drips out like crazy. I may be wrong, but I think you should not have poked a hole up in the refill area! Try sealing those holes very well.

Sounds like you've got some gunk in your printhead. If you have some clear alcohol like vodka, drip a little in there and then blot on a paper towel. See if that'll help.
