Wouldn't you love to have that. I wonder how much it will go for.
There was one right before Christmas too! I wish I had the extra money right now to win this. I placed a bid just to bid, I knew my bid was way too low for this item.
Isn't that something special? Look at the Christmas themed cake with the everygreen trees, they look so real,! All of the work is spectacular! And you know, it doesn't look dated, just beautifully done, like it was painted in icing.
Thanks for sharing this.

edited to say, that should be "evergreen" not "everygreen", haha!
i was just checking out the thermaphone, too. sure glad that wasn't the wave of the future, lol. i couldn't do those cakes now with modern tool!
I love how the Thermaphone tell you when you lard is ready!! My husband says I will never be as good as baker as his grandmother because I dont use lard!! LOL!!
Holy cow I would weigh a ton!! All the decorations look like embroidery to me - just beautiful. I put it on my watch list to see how much it goes for - thanks for sharing!! ![]()
The other one went for $67.66. There were 13 bids and it started at $9.99. I'm sure the person who offered it had no idea that it would go for that much.
I did a search on line and it is offered by some other people but for more money (up to $180!!!).
The craftmanship is amazing.

It's up to $80 + dollars now. Really a great book. Someone will be happy to add it to their collection.
Looks like we need to be digging in the flea markets for more of these so we can make some money. My problem is that once I buy something, I never want to sell it. I have a White House Cookbook dated 1897 that a friend found in an old hunting cabin in Alaska. The most used and dirtiest pages are the ones for cakes. Pretty interesting reading. In those days you could find a little bit of information on just about anything! I have my Great Aunt Anna's cookbook from 1905 and the dirtiest pages are the ones on cakes. Guess we aren't the only ones interested in cake baking!!!
