Have a wedding cake booked in June for a Jamaican themed cake. Found the perfect one on Duff's website titled "Islands", so I emailed and asked permission to use this design concept. Heard back from them and they said yes, they were flattered! They also included a saying that is so appropriate to using someone else's idea without permission..."Good artists borrow. Great artists steal."

the probally like the fact that you asked first. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that just want the cake made and don't care about who origanly designed it.

Most definitely!!! I think cake people are the nicest people. Don't you?
And you can definitely use any design I have. Alot are inspired from here.

This is Duff's website. He has been in a few of the Food Network Cake Challenges. One was the Sports theme, another was Halloween, I think, and I think there was another one???

He is cool and a lot of fun. I think the pressure of competition puts a strain on his work... especially when he's timed. He is an awesome decorator, but I wouldn't appreciate him nearly as much if I'd only seen him in competitions. : )
