Painting Fondant Swags??

When applying luster to a fondant swag do you paint it on once the swag is in place on the cake or do you paint it first then place?

I think I would color it first - that would keep too much of the dust from falling on the rest of the cake.

True true!! That makes sense. I'm also wondering about handling it and having some of the dust come off! I would rather have that and then touch it up than have it splatter on the cake!!! thumbs_up.gif
