Hi guys....when you make chocolate paste out of chocolate and corn syrup, I understand it becomes pliable and moldable. But does it harden the way fondant or gumpaste does? Also, can you roll it out like fondant to cover a cake or is it mainly used for decorations?

Thanks!

You can roll it out like fondant to cover a cake or mold flowers, etc for decoration. It will stiffen up but will not harden completely like gumpaste. It tastes good too!

I don't know how to add the recipe to this post, but you can find it in CCs recipes under fondant/gumpaste /sugarcraft. Its called chocolate clay.

You're welcome!

Keep in mind that chocolate paste can become very soft if you have warm hands. It is like a tootsie roll. It can become pretty hard until you work it and then the more you work it the softer it gets. When I make flowers with it I sometimes have to set it in the fridge to stiffen up a bit. My son has very hot hands and can't work with it very well at all.
