was reading some info and wanted to know was satin icing the same as fondant. One other question is I found a recipe in a book by carol deacon that had a recipe to mix egg white or merangue powder and glucose. Is this just anther way to make fondant. Thanks for answering so many question on fondant. Just dont want to stop learning.

Well, Satin Ice is a type of fondant -- I've heard of satin icing, and I believe it's the same. I've never heard of using egg white or merangue powder in fondant though. Maybe others can give you some insights.

Satin Ice s a Fondant and a very good one. There are a lot of different recipes for Fondant although I have never used them with either merangue or egg whites in them although egg white and merangue power makes to the same consistancy as far as I know.
I agree boring, I'm not a big icing person, but if I'm going to make it for someone I like to taste it first and the Satin Ice taste very good. Not sure about the other question.
