Hi everyone! Just wanted to share an update: my husband and I are going to be featured on a local morning news channel for our cakes!
I'm so excited about it! We are participating in a bridal show at the mall this weekend, and the local news channel is highlighting some of the vendors. We were asked to be one of those vendors! So now, we get to showcase some of our cakes locally, and I have a feeling that business is going to really start picking up! AHHHHH!!! It's scary considering I still have my day job, but exciting too! Just wanted to share!
Also, the company hosting the bridal show put an ad on tv, and they included one of our cakes in the commercial!! (it's the engagement cake with the heart ring box). YAY!!!!! 
(doing the happy happy joy joy dance!) I apologize for not being on here so much; just have been swamped!!

Make sure you have a new tape in the VCR or ask the local station if you can have a copy of the segment. This way you can always "plug" yourself for being featured on the local news. And any other media--it will come in handy some time. Good luck to you!

I can't imagine this happening to a nicer person! Felicitations! I imagine there'll be an ad in an Ohio newspaper for a new French teacher within the next six months or so!!!

You go girl! The bridal fair used mine as an ad on a morning show promoting the bridal fair...but it was a tiny thing really. Not a news show or anything. Just a sort of around town thing on a local christian network, prob. with 100 viewers..lol.. I didn't even get a chance to tape it!
I hope all keeps escalating for you and someday you are able to do this exclusively as you are amazing at it and such a nice person to boot! I am sure you are a wonderful teacher as well though. Please don't become one of those too good, snobby, elite ( in their own minds) folks who get a few skills then are too good to hang with the rest of us! I think what actually makes Colette Peter's so famous as well as her obvious talent is being a people person and keeping it real. People LIKE her. And I think that is a big part of our business!
Anyway before this turns into a novel..just wanted to say, as a fellow decorator I am proud of your success! And I admire your work!
