[quote="mistygaildunn"]Thank you for all of the prayers, it helps knowing that we aren't alone. I'm in the town of Berea, just about 20-30 min. south of Lexington.
I live 9 miles from Louisville, small town in IN, but drive threw Lex on our way to get step son in WV every other weekend.
I am so sorry! Your family will be in my prayers! I wish there was something more to say or do.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. A death in a family is always such a tragic event in any family. But, to find that a loved one had to be taken in such a way, more than doubles the pain.
My thoughts are with you and your family at this time in your lives. I wish you a speedy resolutions of the case so that your minds and your Aunt came be finally at peace.
God bless!
So sorry to hear of your loss. You and your family will be in my prayers.
mistygaildunn,
I'm very saddened and sorry to read this. I wonder if it weren't somehow drug related? Violent crimes often times are. I hope there is enough forensic evidence left behind to find the person(s) responsible. Hope too that it's not family that's responsible. That would be very hard to comprehend.
I pray too that you're family will find peace through the Lord. I don't think there is any understanding to be found here. It's just not something that can be made sense of. So much of life is that way though.
Is the 8 year old a daughter of you Aunt or your Cousin? I wasn't real clear on that part, but if it's your Aunt's little girl, I pray that she will be showered with love and find comfort in and through your family. I hope that she hasn't been told how violent her mother's death was. That would be hard to know. I'm sure she'll know one day, but at her age this would be very damaging.
I wish I knew what else to say. Just stay close to Jesus and keep on praying for justice. I'll pray too!
Misty I am so sorry. That is aweful. I hope they find out the truth and soon. I pray for comfort for you as well.
Thanks again,it's amazing to know that there are still people praying. So often we get out hearts hardened by the things that we see daily on the tv, and when it happens, it's not that personal, especially if it isn't someone that we know. Thanks for the prayers. The eight yr old is the daughter of my cousin who was taken in for questioning, but later released. The comment about it being drug related is very likely. My aunts boyfriend is now out of the hospital and said that she had bought a bag of pot the night before and paid for it with a roll of $100's, so then the next day when all of that happened, they were there for the money, he said that it was $4000, what a small amount of money to lose your life over. The police have released 2 composite sketches of the suspects, the boyfriend of my aunt said that he knew one of them, but that one has an aliby (SP?). It's just all too confusing, but please help us keep praying for answers. Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers.
Hello, Last night on the news they had released the 911 tape. This is where it is if your interested in hearing it, it shows my aunts boyfriend and his wounds, a picture of my aunt, and a composite sketch of the two murderers. It's on this site and you hit the Top Videos, then click on Lex18 News at Sunrise Feb 21, 2006. It's about 4 min into this once it downloads. Thanks for all of your prayers.
Sorry, I forgot to give you the web address, it's

thanks-Misty
Thank you. We still don't know who did this, but hopefully answers will come soon. Sunday was 4 weeks since the murder. My aunts daughter has now got to go into her home and clean the mess. I've not seen it, but have been told that it looks like a slaughter house in there. So she needs prayer, as that's got to be so hard. I have told her that I don't care to try to help, but I couldn't make any promises that I wouldn't walk in there and have to turn right around and walk back out. She hasn't asked for my help yet. I'm just not sure that this is an image that I want stuck in my mind for the rest of my life. This kind of stuff is only supposed to happen on TV, not in real life, especially not in my family. Thanks for all of the prayers that have gone up for my family. misty
Misty,
I'm so sorry they have not found the killer as of yet! I hate that your cousin will have to go in there and clean the mess. Is there anyway you could have a service come in and help clean? If the whole family helped pay, it would be worth it for your family not to have to relive this tragic event.
Again, our thoughts are with you and your family. I hope that the truth, and time will help to ease your pain!
I called about a service like that and they were going to charge $3,000. That's just too much.
Maybe home owners insurance cover it . You never know. Its really suprising some of the stuff they do. Just a thought.
Our prayers are with you and your family
They found the two who did this. The one who actually did the murdering is only 25. The other one was 28 I think. They brought the one in for another crime and seen that he mathed the sketch, this was in another county. They are now being sent to the grand jury. They said that their intent was to rob, that the 28 yr old went there a week prior and chickened out, so he went back with this guy, sent this guy in and this was the end result. My cousin who was initially taken in for questioning didn't have anything to do with this, apparantly she didn't even know them. However the 28 yr old did favor her boyfriend. There's still a lot of mysteries, we'll probably never know them all, but they did confess to the murder. Thanks for your prayers, God is the only thing that's kept our family sane throughout this whole ordeal.
Hi mistygaildunn - VERY sorry for your loss and the circumstances of that loss. I really do know how you feel - my cousin was murdered just about a year ago - it is so hard. It is so senseless!!! Just remember - no matter how much suffering or pain we live through, it is nowhere near the joy we experience in the afterlife. Pure Joy!!!!!!! Your aunt is not suffering anymore and for that you can give a prayer of gratitude. My prayers do continue to be with you, your family and all others affected by such a tragic loss.
I, too, just saw this post today. I'm so sorry for your lost, but I'm glad they caught the culprits. I'm sure everything will be better for you and your family now that you know who did that. God is with you, and I'm sending you my thoughts and prayer! big hugs!
My cousin who was initially taken in for questioning didn't have anything to do with this, apparantly she didn't even know them. However the 28 yr old did favor her boyfriend.
I just read this posting today... While my sympathy goes to you all, please forgive, but the largest portion of my sympathy is with your cousin who was taken in for questioning. I can only imagine what that must have felt like for him/her ... among the family being questioned by police and undermining the thread of what holds a family together.
Hope the your cousin recovers from the shock, and you and your family can learn to live with the obvious pain of such a horriffic event occuring in your peaceful lives.
In my prayers.
Wow. I am so sorry to hear about this. I hate to bring it back up again on the boards but I am touched by your story. I too live in Kentucky, and we have the same birth date - so I feel for some reason that I should say something to you too. It's been awhile since the last post and I wanted you to know I will say a prayer for your family tonight. I hope that God has been comforting you during this time and I hope that maybe some of your other family members will turn to God for strength and hope. I pray that you will have found the killer(s) by now, but if you haven't, know that God is the final judge. I don't know what else to say, but I want to encourage you to pray consistently and know that people elsewhere are still praying too.
