You know I had someone call me a couple of months ago asking if I did character cakes. She said she got my name from a cake website{maybe CC} and said she would drop off a picture of what she wanted etc. I never told her where I live! But she knew! I don't have a landline, only my cell and my web site doesn't mention an address at all! That freaked me out, to say the least. Then I had someone else do almost the same thing she said she got my name and number from an 800 number
, I don't know how that could have happened!! And she said you live on so and so drive right! I was like uh huh, totally in shock that somehow these people are getting my info. Someone in KY is checking the competition!!
It seems to me that fondant is at risk here. Is there a rehab/intervention program for fondant-phobics???? Failing that, perhaps we can open a safe house for fondant????
I feel so lucky---my first fondant cake was a breeze! It must be this fantastic San Diego weather!! No offense to the desert or freeze zone people.
Maybe she's shy? I could contact a bunch of people by PM and feel comfortable chatting up a storm with them but put me on a phone or in person with a stranger and my mind goes blank and shyness just takes over. Maybe she's a bit out of her comfort zone.
And add me to the list of IHATEFONDANT people. Well, "hate" is a strong word since I can honestly say I haven't given it a fair shake, I've only used it a handful of times and I'll use it occasionally for accents so maybe I should be a bit more neutral and say IAMWARYOFFONDANT. Though I am in awe of what some of you masterful artists can do with the stuff. Truly.
I had a lady call recently. She had all of my contact info. She said she got it online. I had the mind to ask her where as I only do word of mouth. She was on a website that I had inquired about their products but had not yet ordered from. When I get to work and find the info as whose site it was, I will post it.
