Hi all!
I have a request from my daughter's first grade teacher for a cake with a Valentine theme. They are having a "100 things I love"party on the 100th day of school.
Need some inspiration! Something a 100/love theme. I know I want to do cupcake cake because it is easiest to serve a class.
Help!
Well, the obvious choice is hearts. What about X's and O's for hugs and kisses? Or maybe those conversational heart candies?
X's and O's would be cute. I guess I stuck on the 100 thing. I wish I had one of those cupcake stacker things and then maybe I could do hearts on all the cupcakes starting from the bottom, have them numbered 1-99. On top I could have a sugar cookie with red or pink icing and and big 100 on it.
I made a cake last week for my Kindergartner's 100th day of school. It wasn't Valentine related but the kids loved it. I used Color Flow and made 100 "puddle" faces and put a few on top of the cake peeking and waving out of the "100" and the rest of them were stuck around the sides of the cake. The teacher was thrilled and the kids loved the faces; they ate 'em up! Just an idea.

(I did a sun because they are Spring Hill Suns. )
GREAT JOB ON YOUR 100 CAKE. I THINK THAT THE CUPCAKE CAKE WOULD BE GREAT WITH THE HEARTS AND NUMBERS STARTING AT THE BOTTOM. I WILL HAVE TO THINK MORE ON THE SUBJECT BUT IF NOTHING ELSE GO WITH THAT.
How about 100 mini-cupcakes? They are quick and easy to make and each child easily eats (or at least licks the icing off of) 3 or 4. Then your decorations can be simple swirls with sprinkles.
