Ok I tried my church I haven't heard back from them...I left a brief message about it and today I sent an email with some of my best cakes although that should not matter I just always look for an excuse to show my pictures...
Besides churches and local restaurants what is other places I can consider asking...
I know schools won't do it and major restaurants and fast food restaurants
thanks in advance
recently a friend of mine offered the "old age home/retirement home" he owns to me...they only use the kitchen from 7am -5pm after that it is completely closed...they have a walk-in freezer and refridgerator that he said i could have access to and that i could have the kitchen from 5:30pm on...until breakfast the next day!!!! perhaps something like that might work for you!!!! good luck, keep us posted if you find something!!!!
wow I never thought of it there is a whole bunch of those in my zip code church replied my email they said no that their kitchen is not licensed and that they don't rent it to businesses ![]()
Too bad but at least i know i can move on with my search i am going to get a license even if it's the last thing I do!!!
Ok if this helps anyone some lady that owns a bed and breakfast yes I called them too! said there are these things called adult daycares they only babysit elder people so they have commercial kitchens so I will try them too, yeah I know I was a little disappointed but their kitchen is not licensed so even if they would have said yes it wouldn't have worked, too bad anyways i thought the lady was a little short not very friendly but oh well
Can I ask why the school won't rent out their kitchen? I was going to conact our local school but maybe not?

ladyonzlake........schools are very picky about who comes on their property (liability with the kids, even after hours). Anyone who goes there on a regular basis has to have a background check and be finger printed. However, this shouldn't discourage you.......I'd check with a few schools anyway. I'd have a plan to show how this could benefit the kids/school: books, field trips, prizes, ASB funds, staff monthly b-day cakes, etc.
At my local school is a liability issue even if the PTA borrows the litchen they have to pay the kitchen manager to be there while they use it
The school I was going to approach is where my daughter went to middle school (she's a senior now). The principal knows me cuz I was PTA secretary for a couple of years. Since I was secretary for PTA I know that we didn't pay for using the kitchen for our meetings and fund raisers. I'm sure rules are different depending on state, school district and probably even who's principal of the school I know that they lease out their gym to the community so I thought, why not the kitchen? I may ask them anyway and see what they say.
