only took about 60 roses before i finally get something that looks like a rose...lol I thought i would practice my roses and partice i did, buy the tome i was done i forgot what i was doing...lol icon_lol.gif O well it was fun as weird as that sounds.... Just thought i would share

Cady. You kidding for me would be 300 roses! I am still stuck on learning those buttercream roses. I guess I'll keep trying.

I am with bizcocho it too me about 300!! And I am not sure I have them down yet!! Cady how is the UP this time of year? Are you freezing?? I am originally from MI and we used to go to my Grandmothers cabin up there in the summer! I sure do miss MI!!!!

cakecre8tor It hasn't been bad i really mild winter we only have about 2 feet of snow covering the back yard and to day it was 40 here in the Sault but its been in the 20's mujch better then last year when it seemed like everyday it was well below zero.

You folks are too hard on yourselves, you will do just fine. In the meantime, try experimenting with fondant or gumpaste roses and flowers, they are easy to make, realistic and you will feel good about the results!

Sometimes my favorite flowers to make are "whimsy-flowers". You don't need to follow any directions just make up a flower, if they're not "SUPPOSED" to look like a particular flower from nature they can't be made wrong!

Also, try the instructions on this site for making roses on a stick. I never could quite get the hang of making roses on a flower nail (my flower's base always seems to fall over before I get my petals on!) I used to decorate at a grocery store bakery and the "cake-tech" taught me to make roses on a stick. I've never made a rose on a nail since...and that was ten yrs. ago!!!
