Like someone else recently I would love some feedback on our new site.

Its just been finished with some minor polishing to go... we tried to do something a little different with the gallery, ie not having to click on the photo but just hover the mouse over the image to see the larger image.

Let me know what you all think.

Hi there! I think I've been on your site before, not sure but some of the cakes look familiar. Anyway, I like it. I especially like how your gallery is set up. Thanks for sharing!

I love your site. I really like the change you made to the gallery! Can you mkae the center picture change faster? I didn't think it was working. I guess I just don't have a very long attention span, but I could see others not hovering over an image long enough to have it pop up.

Everything else looks awesome!

I too thought, at first, that the hovering thing was not working. Is there anyway to make it work faster?

thank you all, I will look into the speed of the centre image popping up.

It can't be too fast otherwise the slightest budge and it will move to the next picture but I will check it out.

Valuable feedback as always from such a helful team.

Could the hovering problem be happening because of distance??? I just tried it and it worked fast for me. Dunno, just a suggestion.
For everyone else apart from Karen, im actually fairly close to Karen in comparison to others.

I really like your website. I had no probs with the speed of the images...but I do have broadband so maybe that helped?

The site is great in terms of navigation, I love the roll over buttons, I always get excited about that on any site. icon_biggrin.gif

My only suggestion would be that your cakes, which are great, could be better enhanced by the use of backdrops in your photography. The cakes topper with the frangipani's is beautifully photographed and well lit. I would suggest trying to duplicate this in your other photos. It gives the gallery a really professional look.

This is just my opinion, of course, and it comes from an ex photographic background so I notice these things more than others perhaps.

Anyway, the site looks great and I hope it serves you well! thumbs_up.gif

Thanks guys... My friend who created the website also thought it may be to do with dial up verses broadband..... If you have broadband then the speed should be fine. For those on dial up it may take a while.

Thank you for the suggestion regarding the photos, this is something I am working on real hard, thanks to many suggestions of pals I have met here at cake central.

Many of the photos were taken a few years ago before we had a digital camera and before we had any idea we would eventually try and sell cakes. We now try much harder to get the right shot and have got ourselves some backdrops, just a matter of waiting for the orders to come in now.

The site is great! I love the mouseover effect for your gallery images. I have broadband is there is somewhat of a delay for me too.

That frangipani spray is so lovely. I understand what franjmc is talking about...and will keep this in mind for my own photographs.

I think your site is GREAT! Also just wanted to say it has always been one of my dreams to visit Australia. My Dad was there in the navy many years ago. He loved it . Maybe someday...........

I have investigated this thoroughly and it definetly is to do with
DIAL UP versus BROADBAND and also the speed of YOUR BROADBAND IN YOUR AREA.

It varies from country to country and city to city so even if you have broadband it could be a bit slow.

The alternative for people is that they can still click on the image if they want to, it does work, the hover idea was a novel one and lots of people seem to have liked the idea which is why we went for it.

Thanks again for looking
