I am working on a cake for my sister's birthday and some of the flowers are on florists wire. I have never used this method before. Anyway, I can't remember what size I need and I need to get some on my way home. A lady here at work has some 24 gauge. Will this be strong enough?

That depends on what flower you are making. Different flowers call for different wire. 24 ga is very small wire.

Yes, the flowers are wild roses (same size as apple blossoms) so they are kind of big. I thought it looked kind of flimsey. Guess where my new avatar came from! Isn't it cute.
