I am doing a class featuring a cake with an underwater theme and I desperately need a pattern for seaweed and coral to use with royal icing. I know Colette Peters had a book out at one time that featured a cake with seashells and such on it but I can't seem to find the book locally. The book was Collete's Wedding Cakes. If anyone has this and would be willing to send me a copf of the pattern for the coral or seaweed...whichever it is in the book, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

that thread has som good ideas but unfortunately no...I can't use any of them in a class room setting. I know the cake I am talking about used royal icing and a pattern that was in the book to create the coral decorations. I don't have access to a stove in my classroom and I'd rather not just send students home with directions and not be able to demonstrate it to them step by step.

I've got the book and will get it scanned and posted for you later.

It's really just very easy freehand work...you really don't need a pattern. Tip 69 for the seaweed and tip 10 or so for the coral. You might want to poke tiny holes all in it to simulate the rough calcite texture of the coral skeleton.
