Can I just say that this is the best web site ever. I have read so many helpful hints. I am addicted. I have been decorating cakes for awhile just for fun, mainly star tipping mold pans. My mother and I made my wedding and grooms cake. I really like working with fondant but it taste rancid. I found many helpful hints about it. I am still learning about what the site has to offer. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

Welcome to the site. I've been here about 6 months now and am on it everyday.

Jcfuwbs, love the picture. My dad used to own a pet store and we had one I named Scooter (we weren't suppose to be selling him) but just as I was getting him tame enough to come out, he was sold. He was really cute and fun though.

Welcome to Breezy and Jcfuwbs! No matter what time of the day or night, you always have friends on CC. Don't be afraid to ask questions. I seldom know the answers but someone else will. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Just being able to look at everyone's work gives you such an inspiration on here. I have learned many helpful hints here, especially "Melvira's Method" for smoothing a cake. Be sure to check it out.

Welcome icon_biggrin.gif

I have a question for you. On the mouth-watering chocolate 3-tier cake in your pics, what did you make the border out of?

i have to admit i have been with this site for a few months , my mother bought some wilton pans on ebay that were old with no insrtuctions and that is how i found this site. and not only coming to this site helped me make great shaped pan cakes but it has helped me think outside of the pan. i live out in the country and there is not may things to do around here so i enjoy making cakes for my family and this site has helped me design a cardboard box cake(after zoozieqv pictures) for my brothers 18th birthday. and a snowglobe but with tinkerbell in it( after psurrette pictures)for my nieces birthday.

Steady Hands the grooms cake was choc cake choc buttercream, the boarder were the wilton choc candy melts, I made each of the swirls by hand. I have never taken a class, my mom took class one when I was 13 and we just sorta went from there.

Thanks Breezy (that's the same thing I call my little sis icon_lol.gif). Did you make candy clay (with corn syrup & candy melts) out of the candy melts or another technique?

No I actually just melted the wafers it the microwave and copied a pattern that was in the wilton book. Like I said I dont know much. I kinda just get a book and follow it. Thats why this site is so great so many ideas so much talent.
