I haven't posted in awhile, just been feeling down, but I wanted to post this because it's been running through my mind for awhile. Plus I wondered in anyone else thought it too. I know alot of members have children so they know who the higgletown hero's are.
THIS IS MEANT AS A COMPLIMENT!! I hope it is taken that way!!
Okay, those of you who know the hero's, there is a little squirrel that hangs with them. EVERYTIME my little one watches the show and I hear her voice, I think of squirrelly cakes. ANYONE? Maybe it's the way because the character is there to guide them along, I don't know. Call me crazy, but I just had to see if I was the only one.
Squirrelly, if you read this, please, PLEASE know this is meant as a compliment and absolutely not intended to be anything more than just that. You know I have enjoyed reading your posts and ALL the information you share. You offer so much to all. THANKYOU.

Haha, well that is one show I am not familiar with but I really like the name of it, "Higgletown". It sounds really cute. I will have to see when it is on and I will let you know if the voice is anywhere near as annoying as mine. Haha, does she talk a lot too? Just for clarification purposes, I live in the capital of Canada where the Parliament Buildings are which is where our government meets. So I am actually the squirrel from "Haggletown", haha!
Sorry to hear kiddo that you are feeling down! Wondered where you were!
Hugs Squirrelly
Higgleytown Heroes is on Disney channel. Fran the squirrel is voiced by Edie McClurg. I think most famously she was in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. She says funny things like "Heavens to breadcrumbs!" It's a cute show with lots of celebrities providing guest voices of the heroes so it's kind of fun for the moms and dads to recognize someone they know!
ps-The little girl always says "awww, pickles!" when her crazy idea to solve the problem gets turned down!
Heavens to cakecrumbs, sounds like a cute show!

Yes awhile back someone refered to our Squirrelly as being like the mentor on that show (I can't remember who though) and I think she is alot like Fran. She offers guidance and support with a positive outlook and encouragement. Fran is also full of knowledge, yet never makes herself seem better than anyone else.
"She is a Higgleytown hero bold and true.
You help your friends with the things you do."
(Be greatful you can't hear me sing the tune, my DH says I make his ears bleed)
hahahaha....can we say too much toddler tv?? lol
I get songs from all those shows stuck in my head sometimes & find myself humming them while driving down the road or washing dishes or something....lol. Reminds me of that commercial where the husband comes home at the end of the day and the wife is still baby-talking..."Helwo honey bunny..." etc, etc. lol ![]()
You know something really funny. My DH thinks the woman who does that voice-Edie McClurg- reminds him of my mother. Everytime we see her in something he pokes me and says "See what I mean"
OMG JennT I soooo can relate!! Everytime my kids watch that cartoon I get the song stuck in my head too!! So funny!!! But it is a cute cartoon - The squirrel does rock! LOL ![]()

Squirrellycakes is a good mentor.....and when our cakes fall to pieces she helps us pick up the crumbs..........as all little squirrels do!!!!!
Haha and I am such a martyr, I would even sacrifice my waistline eating them, haha!

Haha, so true kiddo! I think heaven is the place where the only thing high in carbs is water!

JennT, lol, I have never seen that commercial. How about the one where they show all the adults gong about their day as if it surrounds the kids shows. One part is where there is a lady and a guy in the elevator and like no big deal, she starts with the theme of "Franklin" and he finishes it. Almost as if they don't even notice their doing it. THATS MY LIFE!
In the car we have Barney, Sesame and few other kids tapes, plus childrens books on tape, THATS what I listen to. After a while, lol, I'm singing loud than my kids!!
First, have to say, never thought of SquirrelyCakes when Higglytown was on, but I will now!!! ![]()
And secondly, I can SO relate to the little kid songs. DH and I were in Vegas on vacation...just the 2 of us. We were in the car trying to find a way to a national park. DH told me to get the map out, and
I started singing "I'm the map, I'm the map..." ![]()
I can't escape!!!! ![]()
Well just wait, it gets worse, you start taking these songs and making up your own to fit the occasion.
Somewhere, over at Costco
Way up high
There's a pan that I dreamed of
A Bundt that I want to try!
Or you are driving along and someone cuts you off with no signals and you get road rage and you sing:
Scriminy rinky dinky dee, scriminy rinky doo
I flip you!
Ok, maybe that is just me...![]()

You are TOO FUNNY!!!
You kinda remind me of my DH - humor wise. ![]()
My DD picked out a Dr. Seuss book at the library, so he's been talking in Dr. Seuss rhymes! ![]()
Once at a book store, I was perusing books FOR ME. A woman in the kids section picked up a book and began to read a page. I had read it so many times at home, that when she put it down, I finished the story out loud. I didn't even bother to look up from what I was looking at!
Haha, wonder what that woman's expression was, too funny! Haha, I love Dr. Seus and the rhymes. Actually I love children's programming and movies and such.

I dont think you ever get away from kids songs...Everything can relate to disney. My DH and I were driving in France and we were about to go thru the toll booth and it occured to me that I did not know how to say Hello in French... We then we both busted out in that song from Beauty and the Beast - BONJOUR, BONJOUR!! HAAA And who says TV is not educational!! ![]()

I think that gets to me the most, vitade! Like kids have no memory?
My DS wanted me to tell him a story one day...not read to him, but just make up a story. So I found myself re-telling an episode of the Back Yardigans! lol
I'd listened to it so many times while the kids were watching it that I knew it by heart ![]()
I love the Back Yardigans - now there is some catchy toons!!! ![]()
Another show I don't know, haha, well I know who to ask if anyone asks for a cake with any of these characters!
Ok so do the Backyardigans all wear cardigans or what?
Hugs Squirrelly
hee hee...no. They are friends who look like animals. They all share a bckyard, and everyday they go on an "adventure" - using their imagination. They sing and dance, too. The songs are so so so catchy. I love 'em. My DD has assigned each family member to one of the characters. Of course, I get Tasha, who happens to be a HIPPO! ![]()
They are on Nick Jr.
