I have seen so many beautiful cakes that have been stacked without a border to cover the cardboad cake rounds that cakes are sitting on. I have only done two staced layer cakes and I don't know how to get around not having to create a boarder. Any advise?
Thanks,
Sina

Hi Sina, One thing I like to do is use a smaller cakeboard or cut a cake board to a slightly smaller size than the layer. This way no cardboard shows.
For instance if you are stacking an 8" round on top of a 10" round
Instead of using the normal 8" cakeboard, I would use a 6" board.
When doing this you need to make sure that your dowels are under the small board.
