Does anyone have any insight on how these flowers may be constructed? They seem to be some type of ribbon roses or such but looser...

I think they are hibicus flowers. I saw a site that had them, but not how to make them. They look like either fondant or gumpaste. I would vote for the gumpaste becuse it can be rolled thinner.

If you are talking about the roses, I've seen some cakes on here with similar roses. I am having a problem remembering what they were called though! Not ribbon roses but something else. Sorry, I am of great help, huh?

Looks like a wide strip of fondant, doubled over but left poofy, not flattened, then made into a ribbon rose.
