I have seen some really pretty tea pots on this site. I believe they were all done using the sports ball pan. I made one but didn't like the results and have yet to make another one. Hopefully in the near future.
I haven't made a teapot cake but you might try doing a search in the gallery for "tea". I have seen some great teapot cakes on here. You could PM the person who made the cake and ask their assistance. Good luck with it I am sure it will turn out great!
Hi - I did a teapot cake not to long ago - you can see it in my photos. I did use the sports ball pan - but you could use the wondermold if you wanted a different shape. Just just covered it in MMF and then made the handle, spout and lid using the MMF. I added a bit of gum tex to the fondant that I shaped so that it would dry a bit harder and let it dry for several days - I attached everything using royal icing and a few toothpicks. Over all it was pretty simple.

Wilton had one on their website using the sports ball pan.
This is likely not what you are looking for, but I am attaching a picture just to add, that I used two miniature icecream cones that I sat inside of each other with a bit of buttercream, to keep them glued together and a wooden dowel in the middle and attached, to make the spout. I also used two dowels or wooden shishkabob that I formed the handle ends around to make the handle and insert it. I used a cupcake for the top or lid. I used the old Wilton 3-d bell pan for the pot.

Edited to add, there is a nine inch petal pan used under the bell pan to get the proportions right, I was trying to get the same proportions as my Royal Doulton teapot which is this same shape.

Hi, I saw a really pretty cake in a (I think) American Cake Dec. mag a couple of months again and it was a stacked cake with a real tea cup and saucer on top with roses in the cup. It was so elegant looking. If you did that you can find really pretty tea cups just about anywhere and you could make the cake whatever size you like.
Good luck,
Jenny
I saw these instructions
http://www.sugarcraft.com/catalog/pans/teaparty.htm
and also this site http://www.pastrywiz.com/cakes/mothersdaycake.htm
I was in a book store last week and in the baking section they had a book and it showed little individual tea cups made out of cupcakes and decorated so very cute. The handles looked like fondant or gumpaste. I cannot remember the name of the book.......... sorry... Just wanted to mention the idea.

I have one in my photos too that I recently did. It was pretty easy to do & I made teacups out of the mini wonder mold pan. I tried to make the top of some of the teacup cakes look like there was milk being stirred in but I didn't level them quite right so the effect was lost. I used mmf for all the accent pieces (saucers, sugar cubes, napkins etc.) I had SO much fun making this cake!! I'm sure you will have a blast doing it too!
