I am using gumpaste for the first time and it is really sticky. I tried making it less sticky by using powdered sugar, but that just dries it out. Should I just use crisco and hope for the best?? I really don't like it and am hoping that there is something I can do to like it more. I really want to make flowers, but it is just too sticky. Please Help Me!!!!!!

TIA
Tonya

You have to wrap it and let the paste rest for 24 hours. IF you have already done that, then you can add alittle powdered sugar, just keep working it, you'll get the hang of it.

it may still need a bit more sugar. It should not be sticky, but you have to guard against adding too much sugar. I flatten the paste and sift a llitle bit of powdered sugar over the paste, then knead it.
