I was asked to do a cake for a man's 80th birthday. When I asked his daughter to give me some ideas for the design (favorite color, sport, hobby, etc.) she said the things that mattered most to him was gardening, and his 5 daughters. I was totally stumped! I was browsing this site one day and came across Boween's watering can cake and voila! the idea was born! Then a friend of mine found the cutest mini doll cake in a Wilton book - the dresses were fondant tulip petals. I improvised and made different color dresses for each doll with a leaf cutter. I consulted with the man's daughter to make sure it wouldn't be too feminine for him, and she loved it! Her father loved the cakes! Thanks to Boween for the wonderful inspiration!

Well, the boy version would be, little cabbages with smiling mucky faces, sticking out of the earth with gummy worms all around! Haha, cute too! Yes, kidding, sometimes it is really a lot more challenging and limiting to do little boy cakes.
