Well, It Looks Like We're Moving... Again.

My husband has been offered a bigger and better theatre in La Grange, GA. We haven't even been here 6 months. It says wonderful things about my husband but it is REALLY hard on the family. This will be our 5th major move in the past 18 months.
What is frustrating is that I was just beginning to drum up some business here and was working out some details to rent some room in a licensed bakery. ![]()
We need the raise though that will accompany the move and this move should be the last one for a couple of years. Not to mention the theatre is brand new and state-of-the-art. It's also SLIGHTLY closer to Atlanta, so maybe I can get in some classes at Nick Lodge's place.
Anyway...

Well, '2 moves are as good as a fire for getting rid of unwanted things', is something my grandmother used to say...If the move is for business reasons you can take the expenses off your taxes...
Just trying to help you find the silver lining - of course, you will still be able to be with US!
Wow, that's got to be so hard on you! Not to mention the kids!
I bet your house is so super-organized, though! ![]()
Sorry to hear you're facing another move. My husband and I just moved a few months ago, and wow, it was so hard going through 15 years of life in that house. I culled quite heavily which helped but my Lord, I hope we never move again. LOL
Congrats on the raise!!

I can understand how you feel about how moving is rough on the family. I used to be an army brat, and then after my parents split my mom and I were always moving for financial and/or job reasons.
I told my husband that I have moved a total of 20 some times in my life and I was only 26 at the time. ![]()
My family moved at least every 2 years when I was younger. I went to five different grade schools. The positive in all that moving was that my best friends ended up being my sisters. We are all very close, and are planning a "girl trip" to Arizona in April to visit our folks. (Bad for me...I have a phobia about flying, and that's how we're getting there!)
It really does suck having to move so much, but it does say good things about your husband that they are moving him around. I used to be an assistant manager at a theater and we went through several managers in the year that I was there. The bad ones were very short lived and the good ones were always moved to bigger and better things. It really does say a lot that he was moved to a brand new theater. My guess would be that he will be there for a while unless he gets moved to something bigger like a district manager or something. The moving around gets very tiring, but hopefully the increase in pay will help make up for that.
That is great for him and his job, but I can understand how hard it is on the family. I had worked in that kind of environment. We have lived in 4 places since being married 9 years ago and will be moving again in a few months. Our kids have gone to 2 schools and that is hard enough on them.
I find I don't even unpack some boxes. Every so often I go crazy and tear into them looking for something, but I never unpack them.
Good luck with the move. I can't imagine moving 5 times in 18 months! You handle it well.
