I was wondering where you get cake boards for cake shapes other than circuliar or retangular? Do you have to cut them yourself?

Yes, you do have to cut them yourself. I went through this a few weeks ago when I made an oval stack cake. I looked and looked and could not find oval cake boards then.....I looked really close in my Wilton book and learned that I would have to buy the square boards and cut them myself.

i've never seen boards for other shapes, so i guess you would have to cut them yourself. but, at least its not too difficult! just takes a little more time.

I just can't image why a company like Wilton - who sells all these different shapes, can't sell some matching boards. I hate cutting them!!!!!

I read in a recent thread that someone used a pair of power scissors that Sears has. they were less than 20 dollars and cut the boards 'like butter'

So what do you use for the base on a stacked square cake?

I just finished my first oval stacked cake this morning. I know what you're going through. I had to cut my own boards. icon_mad.gif
I did find on eBay a few people selling oval seperator plates. Apparently Wilton use to sell oval accessories but they don't anymore. I know that this doesn't help with the cake board issue but I just thought I'd let you know that there is some stuff out there used that you can get. icon_biggrin.gif
