I Noticed Something In The Gallery

I am very new and have noticed in the gallery that most people respond to comments about how they made the cake. But, I have also noticed that some completely ignore. What's up??? They will even say thanks for commenting but don't answer any questions. What is up with that???
i personally get really excited when i have comments, so i always read them all. but maybe others don't read them fully, and don't see the questions.
I tend to PM answers to questions because not eveyone goes back to view. In the same vein, people who post the pic may only come back and check every so often for comments and may have the notification option off. It is always best that if someone has a question specific to the cake to actually just PM the owner with the questions--that is usually the fastest way to get answers. 
Alot of people respond to those types of questions personally with PM. There isn't alot of room in the comment section of the pic to get into much detail in answering questions.
Could be that they are flakey like me and just forget LOL
I always intend to respond and of course get side tracked and forget to go back...I think I have always answered questions though....I hope....Oh darn now I need to go back and read all mine!

If someone asks me a question, I'll usually PM them. If those that ask me questions are like me when I ask questions, i'll totally forget where I found the cake at.
Plus.... if I'm the one that posts the pic, then I get a notification when there is a new comment. But if I leave a comment on someone else's pic, I don't get a notification that add'l comments are left. Ergo, the person with the question doesn't know when the cake creator left an answer to their question.
Which is why it is logical that the answer was probably PM'd.
Hi,I am new ,I have been a member since last September and I just had time to figure out how to upload pics. I recieved a lot of comments and questions, which excites me greatly.I just have not figured out how I am suppose to reply. So bear with us new comers till we figure out the ropes. Thanks
I "PM" people that are interested (this way if it is a recipe etc.. they do not have to search for it) and I try to make sure and "thank" people who leave comments.

I'm new too.. i uploaded some pics. and did not know at first that you could allow comments or not..i was told about how to do it, got that part fixed, and the first day i did this,, i had 286 comments!!! the next day 153 the next day 172 the next day down to 86 next day down to 58 the next day down to 63 and then 30 then about 5 ahahahahhaha sooo, it took me forever to reply to most of them.. if anyone had any questions i always replied to them.. but it sure was hard to put a thank you to all of them,, so i didn't.. i did get a lot of pms too. that was easier also.. and i can't always get on here every day.. im soo pooped at the end of the day i sometimes barely get off to bed.. i fall asleep on the couch..But I love all the support. and i will answer anyones questions no problem sharing on my part.. 
it's just that also at night this site gets over loaded and it takes me forever to upload these links from my email.. but if i do it at 630 am it goes wayyyyyyyyyyyy zoomy fast!! but,, i don't always get up that early.. ugh!! hahaahah
Some brides come here just to look at cakes and get ideas. Is it possible that some of the pics that are marked favorites are just being saved by these brides to build a portfolio of ideas? If so, I would just suggest that they are "window shopping" and perhaps unfamiliar with the purpose of this site .... sharing ideas and feedback.

Thanks, I am self taught and have been decorating for about 5 years. It's a hobby gone wild. I only do it for friends,but I now have friends coming out of the wood work!! Sometimes it hard too keep up.
You are too good to only be decorating for friends. I printed your last Baby Shower cake to try it myself.

I get an e mail notification whenever a comment is made on one of my cakes. I think I respond to each comment. However, I don't always remember to check for responses to questions I leave on other people's pics. Geez, one more thing to remember to remember.
When I see a cake I really, really like, enough to want to make one myself, I print it out. So I don't have any saved to my favorites but I have a stack I printed out.
There are some amazing cakes here.

! The only reason why I don't post answers to questions is because I don't figure they will remember to go back and look, they don't get a notification that I posted so I don't answer the questions, but if you PM me you will get an answer back. I have no problem sharing anything anyone wants to know, you're just better off to PM me.
If you all think this is bad practice I will respond to questions asked in the gallery, just thought it's easier to be PM'd.

I don't often get questions in the comments on my photos, but if I do and I see it, then I try to reply.
I prefer that people PM me rather than ask a question on the comments sections. I always answer my PMs but I can often miss a question in the comments.
I certainly am very happy to share and have done so with many CC members, I hope that those I've not answered don't feel like I "don't want to share" I just think if you want someone's help then spend the minute or two it takes to PM them, that to me is a common courtesy.
