How Do I Clean Luster Dust Off My Silpat Mat?!

Don't use your Silpat mat for a liner when dusting with petal or luster dusts. Try using a piece of computer printer paper. That way, when you are finished you can fold the sides of the paper in kind of a funnel shape and it will slip right back into the dust jar or container. If you use paper toweling the dust just clings to it and you waste it. And, as you have seen, it clings to the Silpat mat and is very hard to remove. I would wash with a mild soap and water and then run under the tap with the water full force. You may have to do this several times before you can get all of it flushed out. I know being a person who wears glasses full time that I see sparkles of rainbows for days after dusting with luster dust, it clings to the lenses like a magnet.
Thank you so much! I guess I just roll my fondant/gumpaste pieces out and dust them in the same place. I will have to move them off my silpat next time. I washed with detergent once, but will try again a few times-it certainly isn't off yet!
I hate wasting the extra dust that clings to everything too!
