First a HUGE THANK YOU to Jen (Jiki)
for all of her help and support.

I made this cake for my son's sleepover tonight. I was prepared for the fondant tasting badly and added butter flavor to it BUT what I wasn't prepared for is how stiff it seems to be on the cake I can't imagine how it will cut! So a few questions:

1) Is there any way to make it softer?
2) when I was smoothing and cutting the part I didn't need buttercream seemed to ooze out. Do you think that might be because I didn't wait long enough to cover it or did I use too much?

I really appreciate any honest feedback you can give me

What a cute idea for boys that like video games! I just started using fondantm last month. It does cut, just use a hot knife and wipe it off b/w each cut. I put my fondant on right after I do the crumb coat. I also leave a thicker layer of icing on so that if people do not like fondant then when they peel it off there is still some icing left to enjoy.

Keep up the great work.

It looks great, I'm sure the boys will love it. I've never had any problems with cutting fondant cuts great and it being a little stiff I think is a good thing it seems to keep the cake shape when cut.( I hope that made since). Just cut away.
