My son is being baptized tomorrow and I would love to make him a small cake. We are having about 30 people over after the service for a small lunch and It would be a great addition to the luncheon. Any ideas? We're LDS so he's 8 now, and it can't be baby looking. Also, we don't use the cross for things like this which I know is sort of a traditional symbol. Help!! By the way thanks everyone for all your help in the forums. I love it and am truly getting addicted to Cake Central!!!

How about one of those cakes that look like an open Bible - it would not be babyish and should feed about 30. There are many of them pictured in the Gallery.

You could do the Book of Mormon, or perhaps that star burst from the heritage? flag. That could be used in a really neat design.

How about the book idea.. as mentioned above.. Referring it to The book of Mormon.. and have one of the two photos on one side.. You can do this with BCT..that would be nice.. and the other side can read something like this" I will pray, and walk uprightly before the Lord".

You can even do this with a half sheet cake aswell, if you dont have a book pan. That will feed 30, and then maybe some leftovers..

I did a cake for a young man going on a mission, he is mormon it's in my photos if you want to have a look. You could use the same idea but just have a different saying on it.
I didn't know about the cross until I researched it. Thank goodness I did! I'm catholic (not practicing icon_surprised.gif )so usually crosses are every where!

Hope it helps!
