FWIW, I can't stand that recipe either. BUT, he could have used a little tact when responding to it. Men are clueless, and just don't get that things they say hurt our feelings. I'm not giving them an excuse, but most of them are that way.

The more I think about it, I really think this was a major case of not engaging the brain or having an edit button!! He just doesn't always stop to think about how what he is saying is going to affect the other person. For the record, Bill is usually very supportive, kind, and loving towards me and my cake decorating. He feels terrible about hurting my feelings, and he is trying very hard to prove it. Today, I even recieved a dozen red roses delivered to work today. icon_biggrin.gif

what I'd do: Next time he puts on a new pair of jeans or a new sweater or necktie, tell him, without even a second thought, "eww, that's disgusting!" Then, after his feelings are hurt and he doubts how he looks, tell him you didn't mean it, but that you really just prefer corduroy pants, sweater vests, and bow ties!
