I'm very new at the whole decorating thing but I'm learning a ton from this site! Can I use Wilton icing coloring (the kind you use for coloring buttercream) to color white chocolate or do I have to use a special type of coloring that is designed specifically for chocolate?

You need to use an oil based color that is specific for chocolate. The others have water, which will cause the chocolate to seize.

Wilton makes colors. you could also use colored candy melts to mix with the white for tinting.

I use the candy colors found with the candy melts. You can use the other colors, but I've heard it will seize up without crisco? added in.

I made a loose paste with vegetable oil and petal dust, then added just a tiny bit of it at a time to the melted white chocolate until I got the shade I wanted. I colored the white chocolate hot pink for this cake by using magenta petal dust.
