Awwh, he is just adorable. I think you did a perfect job kiddo, love the cake, what a lot of work it must have been. I would be thrilled with this result and I am sure the consumer was too!
I think a train pan is a very worthwhile purchase, lost of uses. You can do a "Soul Train", a "Love Train", a graduation cake - 'Starting Life's Journey", a "Circus Train", a "Derailed Train for those special nasty older birthday cakes, just about anything.
