Easy Way To Roll Out Fondant That Is In Bulk

This is a silly question I'm sure. I love the Satin Ice fondant because of the taste and convenience. I purchased a 20 pound container and ugh! When I was ready to use just a portion of it, it was so hard to roll out flat. I swear I got a work-out with the rollin' pin! Is there an easy way to do this? It wasn't soft and pliable like home-made mmf. I guess that's what I get for being lazy. ![]()
Put it in the microwave for a few seconds and that will loosen it up.
I tried kneading it a good bit but it didn't seem to help a lot. I wondered a bout microwaving but was afraid it would become sticky. I will try that next time for just a few seconds and see what happens. Thanks guys!
I just break a piece off and knead it. If I need a lot I break off and few pieces and knead them and then knead them together. I've never microwaved it. Let us know how the microwave works if you try it.

One more thing - make sure it is fresh. If it's too hard maybe it's old. Just an FYI - Satin Ice has a shelf life of a year (I still have a little left from November 04 and it's still fine).

Just heat in the microwave works for me I always do it before I roll it out.
Not to long less than 1min. just till its warms and then knead.
