I got a new KA!! Hubby actually gave it to me early because his birthday was Dec. 19th and he thought I would want to use it to make him a birthday cake icon_wink.gif . Hubby also got me a pair of red and white slippers that say "Foxy" on them lol icon_biggrin.gif
However, one of my Christmas presents that I got would normally be a fantastic present but now I have to rethink that. My brother-in-law and his wife gave me a Starbuck's gift card. I bought a Mocha with it and my heart was NOT happy about all that caffeine! I had pvc's ALL night long and into the next day. Needless to say I have now cut out the caffeinated coffee icon_smile.gif I'll use the remainder on the card to buy a cup or something lol It was a nice present though.

One of my gifts was a Starbucks GC too...went to use it tonight for a Peppermint Mocha latte and was pleasantly surprised to see a $45 balance remaining. LOL PVC's be damned!! hehee

Amongst other lovely things, I got a beautiful professional Matfer mandoline and pusher from my sweet husband. It's awesome!! My parents gave us the usual $1000 hidden somewhere in the house, which is an annual tradition. This year, hundred dollar bills were folded, wrapped in foil, and stuck inside Hershey's miniature bars. icon_biggrin.gif At one point on Christmas, I picked one up out of the candy dish and thought, "I wonder if these got warm because they look oddly puffy" but it was my 4 year old nephew who accidentally discovered them for us (my sister and I each get a grand).

I was thinking about the various ways my mom has hidden our monetary gifts over the years...one year she baked the Benjamins in little foil packs inside brownies...another year my dad super-carefully cracked walnuts in half and my mom stuffed the money in the walnuts and glued them back together...one year she folded them and put them inside bubble gum wrappers that came in a metal Band-Aid box...one year she hollowed out the bottoms of several candles, put the money in foil in them, and filled them back up with wax and put the label back on them (it took more than a week to find that gift!)...one year she put them under little glass angels in a gift box (we had to tear it up to get it out)...one year she taped an envelope to the back wall of a deep cabinet in our bathroom...one year she wrapped them around Tootsie Roll Pops and glued the wrappers back on...and there are 7 other years that I cannot recall right now...

I don't think she'll ever beat the walnuts...that was awesome!

My mom got me Debbie Brown's "50 easy party cakes" and "Enchanted Cakes for Children." I already tried the sugar plum fairy. I love them!
