I have mini-mini loaf pans. I bake three, cut one if half and place a half on top of each full size. It makes the "cuff" of the bootie. You can also round off the "toe" of the bootie. You can decorate them with the "shell technique" or the "basketweave".
I just made my first pair this weekend & it only took a couple of mins, I got a bit of fondant & made a 3" log, bent it in half or were the ankle would go, on the side sticking up I did a deep indentation with my thumb & moulded the top of the bootie with my fingers, I don't have a pic yet, but I will post it once I do, however I got this idea from a few people on here, so if you just do a search, you will be able to see pics....

I have instructions for Baby Booties made out of cupcakes. It's really easy. I just used them on a Baby Shower Cake and received a lot of compliments. If you're interested let me know and I'll email it to you.
Can anyone give me instructions or patterns for making a pair of baby booties to put on top of a cake? Thanks
I followed the instructions on the home & garden website (someone posted it above). I thought it was very easy & they turned out great. You can look @ them in my pictures.
