Hi, I am about to put some stripes on a cake. It is gonna be a tiered cake. 2 tiers. The stripes would be on the biggest one. So my question is do I have to put the stripes first and then the cake? or should I put the smaller cake on top and then the stripes?
also I am gonna outline some flowers since I do have to do a cake matching a baby bedding. the cake is covered in MMF...the should I have to make the flowers in BC or do they have to be made in RI?
Thanks in advance for your help! thumbs_up.gif

I would go ahead and put the top tier on and then put the stripes on the bottom tier, but that's just my personal preference. If you have to adjust the top tier and you already have your stripes on the bottom tier, it could mess them up.

I'm not quite understanding your second question. What kind of flowers are you talking about?

thank you!
I'll do that. I'll put the top tier and then the stripes thumbs_up.gif I was thinking on that one bu I wasn't sure.
About the flower. They gave me a baby bedding with some flowers on it. But the flowers are only the outlining . they do not have color on the middle ...so I was thinking on just piping the shape of the flowers...I do ot know if you anderstand me . I hope so... so I do not know If I do have to make them in BC or RI?
Thanks again! icon_biggrin.gif

If I'm correct I think it would be better to do them in RI. It sticks to fondant better and the bc could slide off. Either way this will give you a bump and maybe someone else knows for sure.

I think I understand! It sounds like the "brush embroidery" technique would work beautifully for what you want to do! You can do this in either buttercream or royal icing. My personal preference is buttercream, because it tastes so much better than crunchy royal icing on a fondant cake! icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks to all of you thumbs_up.gif
I'll try BC first to see how it looks...and to see if it attaches to the fondant. also BC is the one that I already made icon_biggrin.gif
I let you know if it worked or not. Then I'll try RI as Michelle104 told me.
Love this place and all the fast responses
