RI doesn't dry shiny. You can try adding corn syrup to give it a sheen

You can dry it with a hair dryer right after icing and it will turn it shiny.

You could try adding a few drops of glycerine this helps make it shiny!

I was taought that when the RI dries, take a small paint brush and brush a thin layer of corn syrup or simple syrup over the cookies and let dry . Instant shine!!

How much corn syrup would you add to a batch of RI? I am planning on using Antonia's recipe.
Thanks in advance.

If you mix RI just until it is mixed, it will dry shiny. Of course, you don't seem to get as much as when you whip it until it is stiffer.
