Hello All,

Please help me. I have to do a "starwars" cake, and i cant find the wilton pan anywhere, so i have resorted to making a slab cake and icing in plain chocolate. How do i take an image from a colouring book and transfer it onto the cake. Any suggestions for this novice cake decorator?

We did this last week in Wilton 1...

Place your colouring book picture under a piece of waxed or parchment paper. Using gel icing (You can buy these at Michaels or wherever cake supplies are sold), trace the picture using the gels. When finished tracing, flip the picture over onto your cake. Using a dry paint brush, lightly go over the picture to 'transfer' the picture onto your cake. Lift the waxed paper off the cake.

When outlining the picture with icing, make sure that you go outside of the gel lines on the outside of the cake or the gel might 'bleed' through. Then use your star tip or however you were planning on decorating the cake.

HTH

There is a tutorial on the frozen buttercream transfer method on the Cake Central site. It's quite easy to do. You should have no problem. HTH.
