Does anyone think a cupcake only business would work?? Guess one could start out with cupcakes and simple cakes (as if that possible LOL) and build up your business from there.

I am in the starting phase and trying to find what i want and need to put my money and time into. I live in a small town around 11,000 but fairly close to larger cities.

Just needing to get some input.. I am driving hubby crazy with a million questions. lol

Sooo many people are opening cupcake joints around here. We have the ever so famous "Sprinkles" nearby. Its hard to say if they are a passing trend or not.
Maybe you could focus on cupcakes but not turn away other cake work?

I know we have one here in downdown Kansas City. I have never had the chance to go in, but have seen articles about it. It seems like she does fine, and has all kinds of cool cupcakes. Ever since Sex in the City cupcakes have made a come back!

You could just keep the theme cupcakes by offering cupcake cakes too! That way you can sell just individual cupcakes or cupcakes made to look like a cake=) I personally think it is easier to start with one thing and grow from there. Then if you get your groove down add more to the menu so to say=) GL on your new venture! Jen
