I met a Lady back in November. She tasted my cake truffles and I told her that I do cakes. She got excited and said that her old cake lady retired a year ago, and she's been looking for someone that can do 3D cakes. She said her son's birthday would be in February, told me the date and would give me details as it got closer. In January, she told me she would need a volcano cake with dinosaurs. She also reserved me for a cake in April for a communion. Well last week, I emailed her wanting to know of exact date, etc. and she confirmed and said she would need to pick it up on Friday the 23rd. I emailed her last Friday asking for how many servings she would need, cake flavor, age of son, etc. She hasn't emailed me back, yet!!!! I emailed her yesterday, asking for basically same info and let her know I would need to pick up the materials today (Wednesday) and let her know price options for the different size options for the cake....No response!! I just called her and got her voice mail!
I'm soooooooo upset! icon_cry.gif I am just starting out and so far the few paid orders I have had are just sheet cakes, and only one tiered cake. I really need this order, but I'm running out of time to get what I need for the cake, and I'm afraid maybe she's blowing me off!!!! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif
Thanks for listening to me rant.... icon_sad.gif

Maybe she doesn't check her e-mails that often-- I bet you'll hear from her now that you've left a voice mail. I would be surprised if she doesn't call you back since she has already told you when she's picking up.

If you don't hear from her by late afternoon or tonight, I think you should call one last time saying that you need time to buy supplies for this cake and that if you don't hear back, you'll have to assume she doesn't need the cake anymore. Then it becomes her problem and not yours. Good Luck (I bet she'll call today).

I agree with Elvis' response....if you don't hear from her today, call her later and put the ball back in her court that there will be no cake unless you hear from her. She may have had a family emergency or something (giving her the benefit of the doubt). I bet she calls also!

unless I have a deposit, nothing is "reserved" IMHO.
