Fondant ?

just wondering if their is a general expectation for fondant as opposed to bc....I really perfer bc but know that I will have to do more fondant..but is it a general decision of the customer or decorator

It's the decision of the customer, since they are (usually) paying significantly more for fondant.

thanks for the info cake pro ...i guess what i am trying to ask is if it is a situation as in a specialty cake excluding wedding etc..where the customer doesnt know the difference between fondant bc or storebought.....should i then explain the different types or go with what i think will work best

I think it also depends on what you as a decorator are comfortable with. If I had someone who wanted fondant I would refer them somewhere else because I don't have the fondant skills to make a decent cake. icon_smile.gif I need to take a fondant class to get up to speed to start practicing!!

If you are comfortable with bc or fondant then it depends on what the customer is looking for and their budget!
