Well, it is that time of year again. We have an old cat that gets sick often so I bought a carpet cleaner and it works great for small issues but it gets clogged with fur so I still rent a steam cleaner about three times a year. Haha, we seem to be on a roll with these. Last time, there was some concrete jammed in the one we rented and it permanently burned an area of the carpet, not a big deal because we want to change to hardwood hopefully after Christmas. Twice in a row, they rented us the same machine and twice hubby brought it back to exchange. The third time, the cleaner didn't work at all, oh well, on to cleaner number 4.
Well he gets one today and it works for about three feet and stops spraying. So back he goes with this one. Hhmn, wonder what will be wrong with the next one. It is getting to be a joke with us, trying to guess what will be wrong with the next cleaner we rent. Hopefully it won't take three tries because I am supposed to do the daughter's carpets too. Could be the wee hours before I ever get done, haha.
I will be so glad when we switch all the carpeted areas to hardwood, the worse that can happen with those is a few scratches and possible a squeak if they don't screw down the subfloor enough.
Don't you just love housework?

I am a hard wood floor fan too...my DD has asthma and we shampoo all the time to keep it clean for her...but nothing beats a hard wood floor!

Me too, hardwood and ceramic at entryways. Funnily enough, my male cat has some form of a respiratory ailment that the vet likens to asthma. What is he allergic to, people? He actually wheezes. My oldest daughter is asthmatic too, no fun, is it?
Finally got one that worked, though the upholstery nozzle leaked a bit, but better than nothing.

SC...I have a "Bissell Quicksteamer plus".....you could have paid for it with the rental money you spent at the store. I actually got mine for free using my Greenpoints. It works like a dream and it's compact. Just FYI

Well I purchased a Steam Cleaner and it is great, when it isn't clogged with cat fur. That is the problem, it is ok for one cleaning and then has to be taken in to have the cat fur unclogged, there is no way for me to do this because of the way it is designed. So it is ending up costing me as much in service as renting a machine. Very frustrating!
I went to do my daughter's house today, heehee, didn't realize how old my back has gotten, I guess it is matching my face, haha! Ouch!
