According to wilton's icing chart you need 6 cups of icing to ice a 9 x 13 cake.

I'm wondering if anyone knows how accurate this is.

I'm doing a full size sheet, which to me is 4 - 9 x 13's. So...they way I'm figuring is that I will need 24 cups of icing.

Does that make sense? Or am I just overanalyzing everything.

This cake is very important to me, it's for one of my very best friends who just opened a salon...it's for her grand opening!!!!

I think I may just be freaking out a little here.

Wilton's recipie makes approx 3 cups per batch. So it makes sense to use 2 batches or 6 cups for a 9X13 cake. 4 9X13's is a big cake. I would make the 24 cups.

Good luck!

I would also make the 24 cups. I tend to run out on occasion. Extra icing in the freezer is always a good idea, too. icon_smile.gif
